In 1998, A Bajaj Super Scooter (Model 1992) that had logged approximately 28000 Km was evaluated over 1600 KM with Fitch Drop Ins introduced in the fuel tank. Baseline mileage of 27.9 Kmpl increased to 38.5 Kmpl with Fitch, an increase of 40%. In fuel consumption terms, it meant approx 30% drop for the same distance traveled. Mass CO emission dropped from 6.8 to 0.94 and NOx dropped from 0.02 to 0.01. The evaluation was overseen by A. K. Aigal, Scientist Engines Lab, Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP), Dehradun. The Performance Report No is IJ 4690452 dated Sept 4, 1998.
